Controversial Decision: Timothy Bradley vs Manny Pacquiao - That's what boxing need

Complain all you want about the Manny Pacquiao vs. Timothy Bradley outcome—your moans, groans and cries will go unheard from boxing's top officials.
The bottom line is that boxing received exactly what it desperately needed for several years—excitement and controversy.
You may not like what happened last night, but boxing is loving the press it's receiving right now. You know the old saying, "Negative press is good press as long as people are talking."
And people are certainly talking.
At the fight party I attended, everyone was outraged. Most said they wouldn't watch another boxing match ever again, but we all know that's tough-guy talk and just plain nonsense. People are going to watch boxing, especially if Pac-Man and Desert Storm battle a second time
Hell, I even heard whispers last night that Bob Arum fixed the fight in efforts to launch Desert Storm into superstardom.
Hey, if that's the case then so be it.
If Arum wants to sacrifice Pacquiao for the time being for the sake of his sport and business ventures, all the power to him. He's going to succeed.
Bradley will forever be known as the man that ended Pacquiao's undefeated streak, controversy or not. We don't know what's in store for Pacquiao's future, the same man who has contemplated retirement for the past few months.
With Mayweather in prison and most likely unable to fight again this year, boxing has absolutely nothing to look forward to for the remainder of the year.
Victor Ortiz? Roy Jones? Give me a break. Let's face it, Mike Tyson isn't putting on another pair of gloves anytime soon to draw interesting.
This sport is ruled by two fading superstars in Pacquiao and Mayweather. Once they fight (and they eventually will), what else is there to look forward to in boxing? Who else are we paying our hard-earned money to watch?
NOBODY!
Aside from the potential of seeing Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, there is absolutely nothing to look forward to in this sport. Nothing gets us excited.
Now, boxing has something to look forward to.
Now, boxing has something and somebody worth talking about besides Mayweather vs. Pacquiao.
Look, Bradley lost that fight. We all know that. Still, this is the best thing that could possibly happen to boxing. We're not just going to talk about this fight for the rest of the week, but we're going to be talking about this controversial outcome forever.
