Taal Volcano recorded a minor phreatomagmatic eruption on October 8 at approximately 6:06 p.m. The event lasted around five minutes and produced a dark-gray plume that rose approximately 4,000 meters above the crater.

Authorities warned of possible thin ashfall in Agoncillo, Lemery, San Nicolas, Taal, and nearby communities. Residents in Agoncillo were evacuated as a precaution against volcanic gases and other hazards. PHIVOLCS maintained Alert Level 1, according to reports published October 9.
