Ferdinand Pascual "Freddie" Aguilar, also known as Ka Freddie, is a highly influential Filipino folk musician and singer-songwriter. He is widely considered one of the pillars of Original Pilipino Music (OPM). Aguilar is internationally renowned for his hit song "Anak," which became the best-selling Philippine music record of all time and has been translated into numerous languages. He is also known for his powerful rendition of "Bayan Ko," which served as an anthem for the opposition during the 1986 People Power Revolution against the Marcos regime. His music often carries strong social and nationalist messages, cementing his status as a significant figure in Philippine culture and music.
